Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana List
Odisha Government has started Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana in 2014. The Government of Odisha has an objective to convert all the kutcha houses into pucca houses by the year 2024, though the state government to overcome the housing problem launches the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana original in 2014. When the scheme was launched in 2014 approximately 99,046 houses were made in less than one financial year by the year 2015 provided roofs to more than 9000 families. Recently Government Of Odisha released Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana List 2023, Check your name in it.
The beneficiary list under Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana is released by the Government of Odisha. People whose names appear in the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana List will be given financial assistance to build pakka houses by the Odisha Government.
Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana 2023
To overcome the poverty-driven by having kutcha roofs over people’s heads. The Odisha Government has now launched an upgraded version of the 2014 scheme of Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana which will be implemented to give Pakka houses to all the ruler areas for the eligible candidates. The life expectancy of the pucca house that will be provided to the rural people will be up to 30 years, providing them a fixed asset for the rest of their lives they can also extend their houses by taking the permission of the gram panchayat of their district.
Objective Of BPGY List 2023
The Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana 2023 objective is to provide Pucca houses to all the dwellers of kutcha houses in the rural areas.
According to the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana scheme a Pakka house is a house with –
- Foundation, roof, and walls of permanent materials.
- Wall material is made of fly ash bricks, burnt bricks, stones (packed with lime or cement), cement, concrete, timber, etc.
- Roofs are made of tiles, GCI sheets, asbestos cement sheets, RBC, RCC, timber, etc.
- The lifetime of a Pucca house should be a minimum of 30 years.

Selection Process For BPGY 2023
The Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana consists of these two schemes —
- Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana-Normal (BPGY-N)
- Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana-Special (BPGY-S)
According to the Biju Pukka Ghar Yojana 2023, the selection of the candidates eligible for this scheme would make in a fair and transparent manner.
For Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana- Normal
- BDOs will prepare a village-wise list of people having a kutcha house in a district.
- Then the BDO will enquire about the list through his field functionaries.
- After the final inquiry, the BDO will prepare the final list of people having a kutcha house.
- The selection of the beneficiaries will be done through a lottery in a fair and transparent manner.
- The lottery will be done in the presence of three members allotted by the BDO, who will be responsible for conducting the lottery in a fair manner.
- The result of the lottery will be displayed on the same day by the BDO.
- The final list will be displayed on the blocks and the GP offices.
- Therefore the BDO will issue a work order for the selected people.
For Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana- Special
- Selection of beneficiaries for the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana special will make through the District Level Committee consisting of the following members –
- District collector– Chairman
- Honorable MPs of District– Member
- Honorable MLS of District– Member
- President Zilla Parishad– Member
- PD, DRDA cum EO, ZP — Member Convener
- The district-level committee will approve the list after which it will be communicated to the BDO by the district collector.
- In case the district-level community fails to approve the list the district collector will approve it and communicate it to the BDO.
- The finalized list will available at the Gram Panchayat Office/ blocks and will also be available on the DRDO website for the general public.
- BDO will issue a work order for the finalized list.
Allocation Of The Funds For BPGY 2023
As the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana 2023 is having two components –
- Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana – Normal
- Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana- Special
Making it clear that the total budget allocation for the financial year will be distributed among the two components in the ratio of 90:10
The 10% of the financial budget kept aside for BPGY-S will be retained at the district level.
If the number of beneficiaries for BPGY-S falls short of the given funds, then the extra funds will be converted for BPGY-N by the district collector.
Total Unit Cost For BPGY Scheme 2023
The per unit cost for the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana 2023 is approximately Rs 1.20 lacs for non-IAP areas and Rs 1.30 lacs for IAP districts.
A new house must be built in an area of about 25 square meters excluding the toilet area.
Installments in Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana 2023
- The release of installments is directly proportional to the work done in construction.
- The first installment of 20,000 rupees will be made when the order will be issued for the work.
- The second installment will be made when the construction will reach the lintel level. 35000 for IAP districts. And 30000 for non-IAP districts.
- The third installment is made when the unit is finished up to the roof. 45000 for IAP districts and 40000 non-IAP districts.
- The last installment of 30000 rupees will be made when the house will be fully completed with sanitary latrines and finally, the beneficiaries start to live in the house.
Note–The beneficiaries are expected to engrave a BPGY logo, with the name of the beneficiary, year of sanction, unit cost, etc on the front wall of the house after which the last installment would be made.
