Punyakoti Dattu Yojana Karnataka was launched on 28 July 2022 for the welfare of cattle in Karnataka state. This unique scheme will ease the adoption of cows from Goshalas. With the help of this scheme, the people of the state will be encouraged to adopt cattle. Residents of the state can adopt cows from cow sheds and provide them with better nutrition and facilities. According to the scheme, the state government will make around 100 cow sheds in the entire state where crossbred, needy, old, tired, and diseased cattle will be kept properly with care. Under the scheme, the cattle will be nurtured in the government-established cow sheds.

The main aim of the Punyakoti Dattu Yojana is to save and protect cows. With the help of this scheme, the state government wants its residents to adopt cattle to provide Shelter to cows. There are many reasons that cows are vanishing these days so to save the cows from getting extinct this scheme was launched.

Benefits of Punyakoti Dattu Yojana Karnataka
- The government of Karnataka launched the scheme on 28 July 2022.
- It is expected that around 100 government goshalas will be started in the whole state to protect cows.
- According to the scheme, the needy, diseased, abandoned cattle will be provided shelter in goshalas.
- The scheme is also encouraging people to contribute to goshalas for making things easier.

Adopting a Cow
By Adopting a cow anyone can provide:

- Donating Rs 11,000 for each cow over the course of a year.

Donate to a Goshala –
- Residents can donate to Goshalas to help to fulfill the maintenance costs such as the washing of cows and disinfection of premises
- With the help of donations, the Development of infrastructure like cowsheds, and water harvesting structures, can be done.
- The donation will also aid in doing research and developing eco-friendly products that are made from cow dung and cow urine.
Feed a Cow
- The residents can also choose to sponsor fodder for a cow for one day. This will be a small contribution from their side.

The procedure of Cow Adoption under Punyakoti Dattu Yojana Karnataka
- Visit the official website of Punyakoti Dattu Yojana.

- Now you will be directed to the new page.
- Enter the details on the new page, like cattle type, breed, age, district, etc.

- A new page will open on the screen.
- Now you will see the dropdown menu, select your district from it.
- You will see a list of Gaushala on the screen.
- Then you will see two options on the screen, first to adopt and second to give.
- From these options click on the donate option.
- You will see all the details of a cow shelter.
- Mobile phone or email is also given you can contact them for additional queries.
- If you are satisfied with the work of Gaushala and want to donate your cow, then you must fill out the form that will appear on the screen.
- For this, select the donation received from the dropdown menu.
- Then tell the purpose of your donation, like – medical expenses, maintenance, or animal feed and extra, etc.
- Now you must select the amount you want to donate.
- Provide your 10-digit mobile number, full name, and email address.

- you will see a list of districts on the screen with the name of the cowshed and the number of cows.
