Food Safety Mitra Scheme

Through this the quality of food is checked by certain people known as Food Mitras. Types Of Jobs Under The Scheme
As mentioned in the official brochure of the Food Safety Mitra scheme there are three types of training for food Mitras such as :-
- Digital Mitra
- Trainer Mitra
- Hygiene Mitra
Eligibility Criteria For Food Safety Mitra
The certain eligibility criteria are finalised for the above-mentioned jobs –
- The applicant must be of age between 21 to 60 years.
- Applicant must have completed 10+2 from a recognised school and a recognised board.
- Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree at any course from a recognised University.
- The applicant should have basic computer and internet knowledge.
For Trainer Mitra
- The applicant must be a graduate in the following subjects – food science/biology/chemistry/microbiology/food hygiene/home science etc.
- If not graduated from the above-mentioned subject the applicant must have a 5 or 7-year experience in the prescribed job.
- Furthermore, the applicant must have a 5 or 7 years experience under food safety or hygiene under the relevant food safety industry.
- The applicant must have knowledge of FSS rules and regulations.
- The applicant must undertake the training for at least 20 days in a year.
- Last and not least the applicant must have good communication skills.
For Hygiene Mitra
- The applicant must be of age between 21 to 60 years.
- The applicant must be a graduate in the following subjects – Hotel management/catering/food science/microbiology/diary/oil technology etc.
- Applicant must have knowledge of FSS rules and regulations.
Application Fees For The Training
The following table shows the application fees for different training purposes –

| For Hygiene Mitra | Rs 2000/- for FBOs with less than 15 employees Rs 5000/- for FBOs exceeding 15 employees |
How To Apply Online For Food Safety Mitra Scheme
To register yourself for any of the above-mentioned jobs you need to follow these simple steps:-
- First, visit the official website Food Mitra Scheme
- After that, at the homepage of the website you will see “Apply Online” Option
- You will be automatically redirected to the registration page.
- Fill up all the details asked in the registration page such as – Name, Father’s Name, Address, Educational Qualification etc.
- First mention all the login details such as – Your Name, Password etc
- Secondly, fill up all the FSM details such as the job you are applying for.
- Then fill up the educational details.
- Finally up the training and experience details.
- Read carefully all the terms and conditions.
- Click on I agree
- Click on Register
- After successful Registration takes a print out of Application form for future use.
Note – The certificate obtained after full training will be eligible only for 2 years.
